Franco Jelovcic, Croatian national team player, anlyzes their performance during the group stage and rates their chances in the next round
1. Third in Group A with one win and two losses. How do you evaluate this first phase of the tournament?
I think we deserved more against Thailand. We were better opponent but we lose the game. Brazil was superior than us and deserve big victory. Against Cuba, we showed that we are better team and deserved our qualification.
2. Very complicated opponents with a clear dominance of Brazil. How do you face the next round?
We are happy to past the group stage. We have some days to train hard and prepare ourselves for the big game.
3. What do you expect from Argentina in the Round of 16?
We expect a tough game. They are great team with history of winning the World Cup, so we need to be at 100% to win the game.
4. First World Cup, how are you experiencing it?
It is the best thing for player to represent our country at the World Cup. I am happy to be here. Maybe the period of World Cip is not perfect, becuase it is only begining of the season, so a lot of players are searching best form, including me.
5. What do you think could be the key to advance to the quarterfinals?
Strong defense and stopping their transition game. And of course scoring our chances what I think is missing during this three matches.
